GOVERNOR WAMBORA SUPPORTS PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITY

Embu county governor Martin Wambora earlier in the week met with representatives of Persons Living With Disabilities in Embu County to discuss development related matters.
This is what the incumbent had to say about his government's support to the 'otherwise able' people:

"As widely known, Persons Living With Disabilities live in poverty, have limited opportunities for accessing education, health, suitable housing and employment opportunities.

However, my Government is compliant with Act 14 of 2003 which provides for the rights and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities; to achieve equalisation of opportunities for persons with disabilities.

In addition to mainstreaming disability issues into all aspects of County Development, my Government is committed to increase opportunities for this special group as well as promoting their rights in Embu County.

My Government will continue working closely with this group with an aim of achieving all inclusive development"
