TODAY'S WORD: REJOICE WITH THOSE WHO REJOICE and Mourn with Those Who Mourn

Embu governor Martin Wambora (center) with county first lady Theresia Wambora and other leaders mourn with the family of one of his security personnel whose mother has gone to be with the Lord.
It is written, 'Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep' (Romans 12:15). What could be more noble; and who could be happier than that man who has taken the Law of the Lord into his heart, so that he meditates on it day and night and lives according to the teachings therein. '...he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper' (Psalms 1:3). Glory be to God that there are still a few such men in the world today, one of whom is Embu county governor, H.E. Hon. Martin Wambora.

The other week when the man was forced to attend a court hearing on his appeal to a fallacious ruling by the High Court, he was captured on camera rejoicing with his supporters. The reason for celebration was that the date for the submissions was moved from 21 May to 5 June, 2018. This gave his legal team more time to tackle the seemingly endless challenges. Wambora's nemesis, Embu gubernatorial election loser, former senator Lenny Kivuti had attended the hearing confident that the ruling will be upheld so that the election would be repeated. Mr. Kivuti was later seen to be in a quagmire as he attempted to convince his supporters to stick with him albeit the disappointment.

Governor Wambora's relief was however short-lived as soon afterwards, one of his most trusted security aides lost his mother. As such, the man who has come to be referred to as the governor with the nine lives of the proverbial cat due to his tenacity, took a break from his busy schedule to go weep with the family. He was as usual accompanied by the county first lady Theresia Wambora and an army of his most ardent supporters. The gesture brought out the much loved but equally besieged leader as a man who lives and rules as per biblical teachings. As it is, Embu county continues to make headlines due to the myriad development projects being undertaken in spite of distractions by enemies of development. Leading among these is the Embu level 5 hospital which has been improved into a Teaching and Referral hospital under Wambora's leadership.
