Improvement of Dental Services at Embu Level 5 Hospital

The County Executive Committee member (CECm) for Health Mr. Jamal Runyenje has announced an exciting milestone in services at the Dental Department of Embu Teaching and Referral Hospital. Under the visionary leadership of the hospital CEO, Ms. Bancy Mutuah, there has been capacity expansion by the addition of two state-of-the-art dental chairs, a significant upgrade from their previous single-chair setup. These chairs will be available for use once a shipment of necessary consumable accessories have been delivered.

According to Waziri Jamal, this investment will enhance the ability to deliver exceptional dental care, enabling Dentists to offer procedures that had previously been unavailable at the facility. These procedures include dental fillings for restoring teeth affected by cavities, dental dis-impactions for removing impacted teeth trapped beneath gums, bone, or other teeth, dental pulpotomies as specialized fillings for children as well as scaling and polishing for professional deep cleaning to promote healthier teeth and gums.

The department also expressed its sincere gratitude to the County Government of Embu, led by H.E. Governor Cecily Mbarire, for its unwavering support in elevating the hospital’s standards and making the transformation possible. "This upgrade marks a new era of enhanced patient care. We look forward to serving our patients better than ever," says Waziri Jamal.
